-Summary

 

We put ourselves in G-Shock (watch maker) and created a luxury brand line that is called G-EXTREME. This brand is for the higher profit on sales and market share. First, I’ll briefly introduce our product. G-EXTREME is the luxurious sport watch, and it is not only for the people who enjoy general sports but also for the people who enjoy extreme sports. We added a lot of functions that is more practical and more elegant on the existing functions of G-Shock. The functions we added are the luxurious design, health control device, durable and flexible materials, water proof, depth meter, checking heart rate, atmospheric pressure measurement, digital thermometer, and GPS. In addition, we set a price of G-EXTREME about 600 to 700 dollars so we made our products more expensive and luxurious than the existing G-Shock products (100 to 200 dollars).

Then, we thought about target markets. Our product is aimed at the people who enjoy the extreme sports, who care about their health, and who can afford to financially.

Next, we searched about our competitors. We found that Nike, Asics, and TIMEX have launched low-priced sports watches with very basic abilities. Among them, Nike has relatively higher market share rate than other brands in this field. However, our luxurious products, G-EXTREME, will be located in the top of the right part because G-EXTREME is a high-class product both functionally and on price. At present, the brand named Sunto is producing a high-priced sports watch worth 700 dollars and its functions are much various. Also, Sunto’s products are very specialized for the extreme sports but their brand image is not specific to the customers. We picked out for Sunto as our rival, so our goal is to take the customers of Sunto doing flanking attack to their weak brand image.
